La GT4 European Series et le championnat de France FFSA GT se sont achevés à deux semaines d’intervalle, à Barcelone pour l’une, au Paul Ricard pour l’autre. A l’occasion de sa douzième saison de fidélité à l’équipe Saintéloc de Sébastien Chétail, Grégory Guilvert a engrangé deux victoires européennes avec Fabien Michal et une 3e place au championnat Pro-Am. Les deux complices ont donc à ce jour escaladé la première marche à 19 reprises en GT4 en l’espace de cinq saisons, sans parler de leurs quatre titres ! Cette année, Greg avait une mission différente à accomplir dans le championnat de France en accompagnant les progrès de Gregory Curson Faessel. Cet alsacien de 27 ans possède un bon potentiel mais il est encore peu expérimenté puisque ses débuts en sport auto ne datent que de 2021 ! Sur le circuit Paul Ricard, l’association des deux Greg a produit un premier podium ! 
Greg et Fabien sont arrivés à Barcelone avec une chance limitée de conserver leur titre en GT4 European Series. Le redoutable équipage Pla/Beaubelique était nanti d’une bonne marge et pouvait voir venir… Mais comme rien n’est jamais écrit d’avance en sport automobile, ils ne sont pas parvenus à inscrire le moindre point en Catalogne, offrant une opportunité aux pilotes de la célèbre Audi R8 LMS GT4 n°42. Dans le clan Saintéloc, on a lutté aux avant-postes tout le week-end… sans pouvoir hélas combler la totalité de l’écart. « La performance était plus qu’au rendez-vous » constate Greg. « Dans la deuxième séance d’essais libres, j’ai fait le meilleur temps absolu avec 5 dixièmes d’avance sur le 2e. J’étais sur le même rythme en qualification mais j’ai dû doubler une voiture et j’ai signé le 2e temps au général et en Pro-Am, tout près de la pole. Au départ de la course 1, j’ai coupé la chicane pour éviter un accrochage et j’ai émergé à la 4e place en Pro-Am. En franchissant la ligne à la même place, nous avons réduit l’écart au championnat mais il nous fallait encore un peu de réussite dimanche pour finir le job. Fabien avait qualifié la voiture à la 7e place en 1er en Pro-Am pour la course 2. Mais j’ai écopé de cinq places de pénalité pour l’incident du départ. Fabien est donc parti plus loin que prévu ce qui nous a fait mal car la plus grande partie de la course a été neutralisée, bridant nos velléités de remontée. Dommage, nous avions ce qu’il fallait pour finir sur un beau titre et on a dû se contenter d’un honorable podium. » 
L’aventure européenne 2022 se conclut sur une 3e place au championnat, l’unique Camaro du plateau ayant fini en trombe, coiffant nos deux Français au poteau pour 3 petits points. Il était temps de se tourner vers la Provence pour vivre l’épilogue du championnat de France GT FFSA. Pas de titre à aller chercher cette fois mais la volonté de conquérir ce podium que Greg & Greg avaient frôlé plusieurs fois cette saison. 4e à Magny-Cours, Spa et Lédenon, le Melunais et le Strasbourgeois savaient ce qu’il leur restait à faire… « Samedi soir, Greg a fait une course très solide » jugeait Greg. « Il a arraché la 3e place dans le dernier tour ! Il a bien progressé tout au long de l’année. Monter ensemble sur ce premier podium, c’était mon objectif depuis le début. Nous avons marqué à nouveau des points dimanche, pour la neuvième fois de la saison, soit trois fois sur quatre en moyenne. 8e au final dans un championnat aussi relevé, ce n’est pas si mal ! » Quand on lui demande de quoi sera fait 2023, Greg se contente de lever un petit coin de voile. Ce sera « un beau double programme en GT4, avec des chances de se battre pour la victoire en France et en Europe. » C’est prometteur, mais inutile d’insister, on n’en saura pas davantage pour le moment !
